My teaching philosophy focuses on making learning accessible, engaging, and rooted in empathy. These are values that were instilled in me by my mother. She believed that knowledge should be attainable for anyone who seeks it. She taught me that learning is not limited by circumstance and that educators are responsible for opening doors, not being gatekeepers.
In the classroom, I will strive to create a space where students feel heard, challenged, and encouraged to think critically. I do not want students to absorb information but to learn to use it meaningfully in their lives and communities. Whether guiding writing, literature, or professional communication, I want to be a spark that ignites their curiosity and confidence. I want to be the foundation that builds bridges between ideas and people. My goal is always to help students find their voice and walk away knowing they can do more than they imagined.
